This adapter allows B4 lenses to mount onto PL Cameras. It is recommend for use only with HA-series, HJ-series, or UHD-rated B4 lenses.
Power must come from a PL-mount camera with 12-v Hirose Power available (such as our Alexa Mini - PL).
The B4 lens to use with this adapter must also have an internal 2x extender (to double the projected area and cover a super-35mm sensor). There is a 1.5 stop loss in this process, however, the typical resolution lost with a 2x extender is negated by the larger sensor (the image is not center cut the way it would be on a B4-native camera with a 2x extender engaged).
In other words, you can use a B4 lens on a PL camera. There is a roughly 2-stop iris loss in this process. The 35mm equivalent is a 2.3x multiplier. (For example, the Canon HJ14x4.3 T1.8 Lens, with this adapter, behaves as 10-138mm T3.8 Cinema Zoom.) For further information or to inquire about specific lens/camera compatibility, please contact us.
